Tallest Tower Planned In Hull

Plans have been scaled up in size by developer, the Manor Property Group, for the Clarence Mill development in Kingston upon Hull.
Originally the tallest element of the mixed use scheme was to be a mere 15 floors but this has now been substantially increased in height to 23 storeys and a height of 70 metres, enough to comfortably make it the tallest building in the city if built.
As before the design features a curving front, sloping roofline, and red industrial hues on the cladding. The prominent location of the tower on Clarence Street that overlooks the nearby river will, when combined with the height increase, go some way towards making it a truly noticeable gateway building throughout the city.
There will also be four lower-rise blocks in addition to the main building forming an overall development four times the size of the largest one currently built by Manor Property in Hull - Queens Court.
The £80 million project will contain 246 new apartments up from 235, 151 student residences, retail outlets, a new hotel and leisure uses such as a casino. New health amenities like a doctor's surgery will also be located on site.
If built the main Clarence Mill Tower will be six metres taller than the current joint tallest buildings in Hull, a couple of sixties tower blocks that stand at 64 metres each.
